Good movies are like fine wines...
I hate ratings. I hate trying to give a film a mark out of ten, or ‘stars’ out of five. Films are subtle, the difference between damn good and remarkable is often barely tangible, and appreciation of anything artistic is such a massively subjective thing that rating it seems utterly pointless. At the same time, I’m a man, and — to generalise — men love rating stuff....
