Player back after coma recovery
Just over a year ago, Oxford United player Robert Hughes was attacked in Crete, fell into a coma, and woke up with total amnesia. Having to relearn everything — eating, moving, the lot — and having no idea that ever played for Oxford United, he played in a friendly last night for Welling United against Millwall and has been offered a contract.
The only thing he can remember is his love for football — training for six hours a day, five days a week and willing himself to get back into the game.
Humans are fucking weird, but clearly quite awesome.
